For fun, we play pick-up games weekly. We have 8 ‘loaner chairs’ available to the public. This is totally free and open to anyone - including athletes with full mobility. It’s a wonderful opportunity for anyone who would like to try out wheelchair basketball. It’s great exercise and a lot of fun! I encourage anyone with interest to come participate.
Competitively, Coastal Adaptive Sports sponsors our local adaptive basketball team: The Coastal Chairmen, a division 3 team playing in the National Wheelchair Basketball Association. The team plays in the Carolina Conference and competes with other teams in the surrounding areas such as Raleigh, Charlotte, Fayetteville, Winston, Columbia, Spartanburg and Charleston.
